Minutes from sandy beaches and magnificent golf courses. Nearby you can enjoy some of the best beaches on the Algarve, which are rarely crowded even in the height of summer. The extensive sandy beach at Manta Rota is highly recommended. The wide, safe and clean sandy beach is one of Tavira's key features, with restaurants and beach bars. In Summer, there are water sports and the sea is warm and clear.

Benamor golf course is just a couple of minutes away from the villa. Other nearby courses include Quinta da Ria / Quinta de Cima and Castro Marim, as well as the exclusive Monte Rei course designed by Jack Nichlaus. Seve Ballesteros has just opened a highly rated course at Quinta do Vale, and a forthy-five minute drive to the Quinta do Lago area takes you to some of Europe's top courses. Alternatively there are a number of popular courses just over the border in Spain.

Relax in Stunning Tavira and Other Activities Tavira is a charming, historic town with many shops, restaurants and bars. It has something for everyone. Sit at the market square by the riverside and sip a glass of wine while watching the world go by. Take a walk around this beautiful town and visit the castle and old churches. Visit the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, a paradise for walkers and bird watchers alike. Or get active at the local kite-surfing school, go horse riding, play tennis or test out the mountain bike trails.

Boats depart the local pier for deep-sea fishing all along the Algarve coast. There’s a jeep safar and boat trips up the Guadiana river, which can be arranged locally. If you prefer your entertainment a little more high-octane, then there are several water parks within easy driving distance. The Spanish border is 20 minutes away, while Seville is 90 minutes drive or a little longer by the twice-daily express bus service – either way an excellent day trip. The commuter hourly train service is remarkable, connecting all the coastal towns of the Algarve with Tavira and with the twice daily Faro-Lisbon express. Local taxis are abundant and offer a fast reliable service.
