Blue-Flag Beaches
Beautiful uncrowded blue-flag beaches with golden sands that seem to go on forever. The beaches of Tavira are much less crowded that at Vilamoura, Albufeira or Portimao.They are ideal to relax on during your vacation in Tavira, with cafes, bars, and other facilities.
- Barril - Barril is long enough to encompass both the cosmopolitan atmosphere and near complete isolation
- Ilha da Tavira - There are regular ferry crossings to this island, which lies opposite the town and has long beaches and support facilities
- Ilha da Cabanas - Seperated by an arm of the Ria Formosa, Cabanas is quite and isolated.
- Conceição - Opposite the village of the same name. Reached by boat. Extensive beach. Very calm
- Santa Luzia - A vast beach that offers hours of solitude, coupled with the pleasure of warm, clear waters
- Manta Rota - Further west, this is a stunning beach with ample car-parking, bars, cafes, restaurants, and all facilities.
